Bojic remains top scorer in Group 3

Marko Bojic (9) and the Montenegro team celebrate their victory against Germany in week one of the World League Group 3 Preliminary Round

Lausanne, Switzerland, July 5, 2016 - Slovenia celebrated victory in FIVB Volleyball World League Group 3 on Saturday, defeating Finals hosts Germany 3-1 (25-19, 25-18, 21-25, 25-20) in Frankfurt am Main. Over the duration of the Group 3 competition, however, Slovenian top scorer Mitja Gasparini was outscored by Marko Bojic of Montenegro, despite his team's absence from the Finals last weekend.

Gasparini scored 12 points in his team's 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-16) semifinals victory against Greece on Friday before claiming another 14 against Germany on Saturday (Slovenia's top scorer in that match was Tine Urnaut with 17 points). The two matches took Gasparini's total for the competition to 113 points.
