China coach Xie Guochen - We will exert all our energies tomorrow

Post-match press conference for China v Slovakia

Xuancheng, China, July 1,2016 - China delighted their home fans as they posted a straight-set (25-19, 25-18, 25-22)
win over their European rivals Slovakia at the FIVB Volleyball World League on Friday benefiting from match-high 18 points scored by Dai Qingyao.

Slovakia captain Matej Patak: “ We started well at the beginning of the first set, however, we were not able to continue this momentum. It is a pity that we haven’t showed our best form. I hope we can prepare well for tomorrow’s match.”

China captain Jiao Shuai: “Many thanks to the media, fans, friends. Today is an important day for us because we achieved our first home win against Slovakia. We are still not playing as great as we like so that our team still have to work harder on details. We will find the rhythm and gain our confidence as soon as we can.”

Slovakia head coach Miroslav Palgut: “The result was not so good and ideal. China’s quick and various strategies confused us. As a result, we lost our initiatives at the beginning of the first set. Besides, our setter did not do a good job.”

China head coach Xie Guochen: “I am glad that we can achieve a splendid home victory in China. It is a long time for China team to play at home court so we are a little unaccustomed at the opening of the match. Fortunately, we found our composure and play at our normal level. We will still exert all our energies for tomorrow.”
