Montenegro finish weekend on a high with 3-1 over Mexico

Montenegro earn their first win of the weekend with 3-1 over Mexico

Tunis, Tunisia, June 26, 2016 - Montenegro finished their disappointing weekend with a 3-1 (18-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-19) victory over Mexico in Tunis on Sunday.

Montenegro were determined to shake off yesterday's loss to Tunisia in which they had squandered a two-set lead and to earn their first win of the weekend.

The match did not start in a promising fashion for the European side. Mexico grabbed a two-point lead at the first technical time-out and never looked back. They dominated the play to finish the opening set with 25-18.

Montenegro were able to bounce back quickly as they raced out to a 4-0 lead in the second set. At this point Mexico began committing unforced errors which lead to a swift 25-17 win in the set for Montenegro.

The third set was very close until 11-all at which point the European side snatched three points in a row. The slight advantage was all they needed as they controlled the rest of the set to take it, 25-22.

The fourth set began the same way as the second, with Montenegro winning the first four points. Aleksandar Minic and Marko Bojic dominated in attack taking their team to a 25-19 victory.
