Wallace steers Brazil to the victory over Iran

 

Brazil's block is raising high

Belgrade, Serbia, June 24, 2016 - Wallace De Souza scored match-high 17 points leading Brazil to a 3-1 (25-18, 24-26, 25-16, 25-17) victory over Iran in the Pool F1 encounter on Friday afternoon.

The next best-scorer for Brazil was Mauricio Borges with 16 points while Mohammadjavad Manavinezhad finished with team-high 13 points for Iran.





This was the fourth Brazil's victory over Iran in the seven matches between the nations at the World League.

Set one saw both teamt trading early points until Brazil pulled away to a 9-6 lead and managed to keep control of the game eventually finishing the set off 25-18.




Set two was a vary tight affair as no team could gain any significant advantage over long spell. Towards the end of the set Iran kept their nerves call. Brazil, however, managed to save the first set-point, but the reception error gave Iran 26-24 win.

The next two sets followed the same pattern as Brazil quickly established a lead a finished them respective 25-16 and 25-17.
