Egypt and Czechia use match to prepare for next important competitions

Seoul, Korea, July 3, 2016 - Czechia claimed a 3-0 (25-19, 32-30, 25-23) against Egypt in the last FIVB Volleyball World League 2016 match at the Group 2 tournament in Korea.

Minguel Angel Falasca, coach of the Czech Republic: "I am very happy with the victory. We showed better performance than in the last two games. We won five times in World League 2016. I am very glad we won the last game. Also, thank you for Korean fans."

Sherif Elshemerly, coach of Egypt: "We suffered from three problems. First, Ahmed Afifi, who is a very important player, got injured. Second, our best player did not show his best in Korea. Third, four important players did not participate in this game. For these reasons, we lost the games. We have only four weeks to prepare for the Rio Olympic Games. Although this is not enough time to solve the problems, we will decrease errors."

Ales Houlubec, captain of the Czech Republic: "Finally we won a game in the third weekend of the World League. This game was really important to us as preparation for the European Championship. We had good experience in here and I am very happy with our first victory."

Hossam Abdalla, captain of Egypt: "Congratulations to the Czech Republic. I think we played a full five-set match with Korea yesterday and the players felt tired. That is why we could not play well today. We are going to recover and show a good performance at the Rio Olympic Games. I would like to say thank you to the Korean fans and the Korean Volleyball Association."
