Greece's Drikos: Our passion turned the match around

Greece maintain their winning streak with a victory over Chinese Taipei on Sunday

Kozani, Greece, June 19, 2016 - Hosts Greece beat Chinese Taipei 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-22) and remain unbeaten in Group 3 of the FIVB Men’s World League.

Sotiris Drikos, Greece, coach:
We were aware of this game’s difficulty. Little by little our team came through tactically. We had to risk much and push hard with our serve. What I really liked in our game, was the passion of the players, who turned things around after our slow start.

Giorgos Petreas, Greece, player: It was a very important game for us. Usually in such tournaments the last match is the most difficult. We showed great will to overcome the difficulties. We will try to keep it up in Thessaloniki, in order to make it to the Final Four.

Chen Ke-Chou, coach Chinese Taipei: Congratulations to Greece for their victory. We started well, but we couldn’t keep it that way until the end of the match.

Chen Chien-Chen,Chinese Taipei, captain: We lost the battle, but I think we played well. Next time we will do it better. My thanks to everybody in Kozani, for the very good organization of this tournament.
