Metin Toy was on fine form in attack, registering match-high 17 points in the process with China having no answer for his swift kills. China' best scorer was Dai Qingyao with 14 points.

This was the first ever World League meeting between Turkey and China.

A boisterous crowd greeted the Chinese team at the start of the match and the home team used this energy to jump out to a 8-6 lead. However, another momentum shifted and Turkey led 18-16 with outstanding moves and thunderous kill. The teams traded points and the lead as the set progressed with ties each point from 20 through 25. Eventually, Turkey took the set by 27-25.

With outstanding blocks on the net and powerful counter attacks, the Turkish team managed to take the lead since the first point of the second set, taking it along the way, and widening to 13-9. But the Chinese team came up again immediately. Turkey kept up their strong play and finished the set off at 25-23 due in part to some excellent kills.

Set 3 was a very tight affair as no team could gain any significant advantage over a long spell. Towards the end of the set China kept their nerves calm. China took a slim advantage of 16-15 at the second technical time-out. Outstanding moves by Zhang Chen did not prevent Turkey from scoring on for 20-17. Great performances earned Turkey a 25-18 set score and a straight-set victory.
