Qualified Turkey to shoot for third shutout in Xuancheng

 

Xuancheng, China, July 2, 2016 - Turkey have already qualified for the FIVB Volleyball World League 2016 Group 2 finals, but will try to add another straight-set win at the tournament in China, as they face Slovakia on Sunday.

Head-to-Head
• Turkey and Slovakia have met twice previously in the World League with Turkey winning both encounters.
• Both previous World League meetings between these two took place in Turkey. The home side won 3-0 in Bursa in 2014 and 3-0 in Izmir earlier this year.
• Turkey have won their last five World League confrontations with European opposition.

Turkey
• Turkey defeated China in straight sets on Saturday to improve to seven wins and one defeat this season.
• Turkey's only World League defeat this season came at the hands of Egypt, in Egypt, last weekend.
• Turkey have now won 10 of their last 11 in the World League.

Slovakia
• By defeating Japan 3-1 on Saturday, Slovakia snapped a three-match losing streak in the World League.
• Slovakia thereby improved to three victories and five defeats on the season.
• Peter Mlynarcik and Matej Patak both contributed 20 points in the victory against Japan.
