Post-match press conference after the Slovakia vs. Turkey game
Xuancheng, China, July 3, 2016 - Turkey claimed a 3-2 (25-13, 16-25, 21-25, 25-22, 15-10) victory over Slovakia, their third win in three matches at the FIVB Volleyball World League 2016 Group 2 tournament in China.
Emanuele Zanini, coach of Turkey: “Today we used a new line-up to give the substitute players a chance to temper themselves and let the lead players have a good rest. Our players started the game well, but they did not play well in the next two sets. Fortunately, we won the match with both our physical and mental conditions being exercised. The match can prompt us to grow up in the future.”
Miroslav Palgut, coach of Slovakia: “Congratulations to Turkey for going to Portugal. The opening set was not good but our players made some improvements in their serves and fast attacks in the second and the third sets. Unfortunately, we made more errors as the game proceeded and could not keep up with their performance until the end of the match.”
Murat Yenipazar, court captain of Turkey: “It was a very tough, but wonderful match as both teams did their utmost. I am so proud that we have won our last match in the pool phase. Besides, I want to express my thanks to the local fans who supported us.”
Matej Patak, captain of Slovakia: “It is a pity that we lost our last match in World League 2016. We could have won, but we made some mistakes. Today we played many long rallies and we have learnt a lot from the match.”
