Tampere, Finland, July 2, 2016 - Finland still have a shot at qualifying for the FIVB Volleyball World League 2016 Group 2 finals. They will give their best to stay in contention and please the home fans by beating Cuba on Saturday in Tampere.
Head-to-Head
• On 19 June of this year, Finland claimed their first ever World League victory against Cuba, triumphing 3-1 in Osaka, Japan.
• Cuba had won the first four matches between these two in the competition and they all took place in 1993.
• Cuba have now lost their last eight World League matches against European opposition.
Finland
• Finland suffered their third defeat in the World League on Friday, when they succumbed 3-2 to Portugal.
• Finland have yet to be dealt successive defeats in the World League this season.
• Finland have now lost three in a row before a home crowd in the World League for the first time since 2013.
Cuba
• With their defeat against Canada on Friday, Cuba have now lost their last five World League matches.
• They have lost their last three matches in five sets.
• Their two victories this season also were five-setters and none of the seven World League matches that involved Cuba this season have been won in straight sets.
