Duff: We handled the pressure of playing in Canada well

Hosts Canada proved too strong for Korea on Saturday

Saskatoon, Canada, June 24, 2016 – Canada breezed past Korea in a swift 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-20) victory over Korea in front of the home crowd in Saskatoon on Friday.

Glenn Hoag, Canada, coach: I think the guys stayed focused. Gord (Perrin) and Nick (Hoag) hadn’t been playing with the group (in World League) for a bit and we tried Nick as an opposite. Against Korea you have to be super patient and our guys showed a lot of patience. Our offense wasn’t perfect, but we did really well as a group. We’re pretty solid as far as I’m concerned right now.

Justin Duff, Canada, player: We handled the pressure of playing in Canada really well, and we haven’t always done that. It was a really nice atmosphere and I’m glad we took three points.

Kim Namsung, Korea, coach: We wanted to play our younger players in today's match and tomorrow we will play some more experienced players against Portugal and hopefully that strategy will work.

Han Sun-Soo, Korea, captain: We didn't do a really good job today and Canada played better for the win. We are hoping that tomorrow's game will go better than today's game and if we play well, it will be a better result.
