Canada cruise to second straight win

 

Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, June 18, 2016 - Canada registered second consecutive victory in the FIVB Volleyball World League 2016 seeig off Egypt 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-16) as Toontje Van Lankvelt and Steven Marshall showed their performance with 12 points scored.

A match-high 14 points scored by Ahmed Elkotob did not help Egypt to overcome Canada and to continue their winning streak after beating Czech Republic on Friday. Canada could win their first two matches of a single World League campaign for the third consecutive season.

First set was very close as no team could establish any significant lead. Canada kept their nerves calm in the late stages and eventually took the set 25-22.




The second set saw the good start from Egypt who managed to race off at 5-2. Then Canada team refocused and quickly reduced the gap and went 8-6 in front. Later on they managed to expand the lead and convert it into a 25-19 victory.





In set three Canada started well not allowing Egypt to go in front at any time and close it out at 25-16.
