Bulgaria's Tsvetan Sokolov added 23 points to his total against Australia on Sunday

Lausanne, Switzerland, July 7, 2016 - The Preliminary Round ends with Tsvetan Sokolov of Bulgaria as the best scorer in FIVB Volleyball World League Group 1. Sokolov scored 24 points in his team's loss to USA last Friday. He added 23 points to his total in his team's first win of the competition against Australia on Sunday.

Going into the Group 1 Finals in Krakow, Poland from July 13-17, several players can hope to outscore the Bulgarian. Gert Van Walle (153 points) of Belgium will not add to his total as his team have not progressed to the Finals. But Wallace De Souza (130) and Ricardo Lucarelli (124) of Brazil, and Luca Vettori (123) and Ivan Zaytsev (121) are all well-positioned to move ahead of Sokolov.
