The players are very happy about the victory, says Qatar coach Piazza

Qatari players happy for the first win

Ljubljana, Slovenia, June 19, 2016 - Bojan Djukic scored match high 18 points as Qatar beat Tunisia 3-1 (25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 25-20) in Pool A3 to register the first victory in FIVB World League.

Roberto Piazza, coach of Qatar: This is Qatar’s first victory in the World League. The players are very happy to win today and so am I. The players played well, but for sure they could do much more. They have a lot of potential. The most important thing is that they won a match and gained confidence.

Fethi Mkaouar, coach of Tunisia: I have expected more from my players here in Ljubljana, but they have returned from Mexico disappointed where we failed to qualify for the Olympic Games. I could not motivate my players anymore as they really wanted to play in Rio this summer.

Ibrahim Ibrahim, Qatar: We could leave Ljubljana with better result as we played well. Against Venezuela we were pretty near to win the game, but we made too many mistakes and they took it in the last moment. Today we tried to avoid making the same mistakes as yesterday. At least we have one win before we compete in the second round.
