My players believed in themselves, says Puerto Rico's coach Gaspar

Kozani, Greece, June 19, 2016 - Puerto Rico beat Kazakhstan in straight sets (21-19, 21-17, 21-18) and bid farewell to Kozani with their first victory in this year’s FIVB World League.

Javier Gaspar, coach of Puerto Rico: We are very excited about this win. We played very well. It’s a huge victory for us. We have a young team and I know that many people at home didn’t believe in us, but the players believed in themselves.

Sanchez Sequiel, captain of Puerto Rico: We are getting better every day. Today we managed to execute well at the end and we are happy with this victory.

Rafail Gilyazutdinov, coach of Kazakhstan: Puerto Rico had more motivation than us. They had low percentage of mistakes and that was enough to give them the victory. Everything was nice here at Kozani and the organization was very good.
