Chinese Taipei performed well during its World League debut
Kozani, Greece, June 17, 2016 - Chinese Taipei enjoyed their first-ever victory in the FIVB World League beating Puerto Rico 3-0 (25-20, 30-28, 25-15) in the opener of Group 3 - Leg 1 at the Kozani New Sports Arena.
Chen Ke-Chou, coach of Chinese Taipei: “I think we played quite well, especially in reception. We are very happy for this victory in our FIVB World League debut”.
Javier Gaspar, coach of Puerto Rico: “We played well at times. We tried to control our emotions in the second set, but in the third we couldn’t find solutions to our rivals’ serve. Congratulations to Chinese Taipei, they are a new team and they are trying hard. We will try to play better tomorrow”.
Chen Chien-Chen, captain of Chinese Taipei: “All of the players performed very well, we enjoyed it and we are happy to win our first-ever match in the FIVB World League”.
Sanchez Sequiel, captain of Puerto Rico: “We are a group of young players that just came to the World League. In the first set we played well at some moments, in the second set we didn’t execute at the end and in the third one our opponents played well at serve”.
