USA's Lee: "Anderson carried us to the victory"

 

Anderson scoed 23 points against Iran

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, June 17, 2016 – USA came back to defeat Iran 3-1 (23-25, 25-13, 27-25 and 26-24) with a remarkable performance by Matthew Anderson. With that result USA is ranked in second in pool B and will meet Brazil this Saturday. Iran will try its first victory in a battle with Argentina.

David Lee, captain of USA – “We had a beautiful game tonight. The biggest thing was the serve reception, and that we did better than Iran team that is why we won. It was an amazing match by Anderson. He is our star, he carried us, and we rode him all way to victory. Was nice to see him rebound after last night’s match, it was not a great match to, but tonight he came back and was in a great form”

Raul Lozano, coach of Iran – “We played better than last match, but we still have to improve some details. I liked the way that the team behave after losing the second set. We had some opportunities to win the fourth set, but we did not.”
