Team Coaches Turn Focus on Good Performance

Tehran, Iran, July 1, 2016 – Argentina, Italy and Serbia were welcomed to Iran on Thursday as the final weekend of the FIVB Volleyball World League prepared to begin.

Julio Velasco, Argentina coach: “I am so happy for meeting Iran again. This is so emotional for me to train here, to see whole the federation, to meet so many friends, journalists, coaches, and players. My wife came to see this moment with me. For our team, this would be a very good experience to play against Italy, the unbeaten Serbia, and Iran. The third match with Iran team is also important for two main reasons: Iran won us in the first week of the world league and because the fans of Iran are very special.”

Raul Lozano, Iran coach: “This is the first time, we are having the chance of playing at home. We were away up to now and we could not play official matches against power team at home. My players had already had the chance to play at home but not me. I am so eager to experience it sooner. We have tough matches ahead. Serbia is the winning team of group I with no single loss. Italy is also very powerful. We have also experienced difficult times against Argentina. So all the opponents are to be taken serious.

Lorenzo Belgini, Italy coach: “We are to play against three power teams in Iran. Serbia won all the matches and the other two strong teams of Argentina and Iran. We are here to improve our playing. Day to day, we try to get better. We must improve through our matches. We will get the scores to join the final six.”

Nikola Grbic, Serbia coach: “We came here trying to improve and play better. I am not watching the statics. I do not want to know we will qualify or not, we must improve our performance to play good volleyball. We are trying our best starting tomorrow, and the days after.”
