Krakow, Poland, July 15, 2016 - A moments silence preceeded the start of the opening match of day three of the FIVB Volleyball World League Finals on Friday between France and Serbia to commemorate the victims of the terrorist lorry attack in Nice.
At least 84 people have died after a lorry drove through the crowd celebrating Bastille Day in Nice in Southern France on Thursday. The volleyball world stands in sadness and solidarity with the nation and expressed it with a moments silence before the must-win match for France in Krakow.
FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° has written personally to the French Volleyball Federation expressing his condelances on behalf of the volleyball community.
Any kind of victory of the incumbent champions over already qualified Serbia would allow them to continue the defence of their 2015 title.
