Lions vs. Volleyroos with ultimate survival at stake

Dallas, USA, July 3, 2016 - Bulgaria and Australia, the last two remaining winless teams in FIVB Volleyball World League 2016 Group 1, will go head to head in the last match of the pool stage with only one thing in mind - whoever wins survives, whoever loses faces relegation.

Head-to-Head
• Bulgaria and Australia will clash for the first time in World League history.
• These teams last met at a major international tournament on 2 August 2012, when Bulgaria recorded a 3-0 preliminary round win over Australia at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Bulgaria
• Bulgaria are still searching for their first victory in the 2016 World League. The only other team without a victory in Group 1 is Australia.
• They never ended a World League season without a win. Their worst result came in 2014 when they won one match.
• They can equal their worst World League streak ever by losing  10 in a row for the first time since 2013-2014.
• Tsvetan Sokolov scored 132 points, 80 more than any other teammate as Todor Skrimov scored 52 points as Bulgaria's second most top scorer.

Australia
• Australia are aiming for their first victory in the 2016 World League. The only other team without a victory in Group 1 is Bulgaria.
• Australia can lose all their matches in a single World League edition for the first time since 1999.
• Last year, Australia ended their campaign with a 3-2 win against Serbia.
• Paul Carroll scored a team-high 87 points, including 81 spikes.
