Iran seek revenge against Serbia at home

 

Tehran, Iran, June 30, 2016 - Serbia already beat Iran at home last week, but now face the tough task to do it again at the start of the FIVB Volleyball World League 2016 Group 1 tournament in Tehran, if they want to keep their perfect record in the competition so far.

Head-to-Head
• Iran and Serbia will meet for the fourth time in the World League. Serbia claimed their second win against Iran last week, 3-1.
• They also faced each other twice in 2013, with both teams winning a match in five sets.

Iran
• Iran have won two and lost four of their six World League matches in 2016.
• They lost 3-1 against Serbia last week and could lose two successive matches against a single opponent. In 2015, they lost back-to-back World League matches two times, against Poland and against United States.
• Shahram Mahmoudi is Iran's highest scoring player in the 2016 World League, with 72 points.

Serbia
• Serbia are leading Group 1 with a perfect record after six matches. This is their best start to a World League campaign.
• Serbia have now won their last seven competitive matches.
• Srecko Lisinac is Serbia's top scorer in the 2016 World League with 79 points, including 14 aces.
• Lisinac and Iran's Seyed Mohammad Mousavi Eraghi have both registered 13 stuff blocks.
