Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, June 17, 2016 – Brazil kept its unbeaten record against Argentina, winning against its nearest neighbour in three sets (25-21, 25-13 and 26-24) in pool B’s second round. Ricardo Lucarelli, with 19 points, was the main man in the South American derby.

Bruno Rezende, captain of Brazil – “Overall it was a good game. We kept a good performance serving, defending and counter-striking. We missed some opportunities on the first set, but we improved on the second one, when we opened a good advantage. In the third set, the match got tougher due to the Argentinian service. We got focused to change the way of the game and managed to get the victory”.

Ricardo Lucarelli, wing spiker of Brazil – “The change of some pieces helps to get everyone's rhythm. We still have some matches ahead of us and we are raising up the bar during the practices to enhanced our performance on court”

Luciano De Cecco, Captain of Argentina – “Brazil played well today and was effcient on service and defense. When you meet great teams such as Brazil and USA, you cannot commit that amount of mistakes as we did particularly on the second set.  We had our best moments on third set that we could won.'
