Argentina to clash with Brazil ahead of World League

Buenos Aires, Argentina, May 31, 2016 – Argentina will have plenty of chances to test themselves ahead of the FIVB Volleyball World League and Rio 2016 Olympic Games when they face Brazil in a series of friendlies.

The side returns to Group 1 of the World League and, following their success at the South American Olympic Qualification Tournament earlier this year, also have an Olympic campaign to look forward to.

Brazil arrive in Buenos Aires on Tuesday with the first clash taking place in Jujuy on Thursday at 21:00 at Nestor Kirchner de Palpala Stadium.

It will be the first time that the city will host the men’s national team.

That will be followed by a second match on Saturday at 13.00 at Delmi Stadium in Salta. Delmi stadium is well known at international level having hosted a World League weekend last year.

"We have a very interesting program. We start playing v Brazil, a very interesting rival in the north of the country. We have some new players and this preparation will be a hard job but we hope to have positive results," Argentina coach Julio Velasco said.
