Tampere, Finland, July 2, 2016 - The two teams that have already secured their spots in the FIVB Volleyball World League 2016 Group 2 finals, unbeaten Canada and hosts Portugal, will test out each other on Saturday in Finland.
Head-to-Head
• Portugal and Canada have met three times in the World League. Portugal won one of these matches, Canada have recorded two victories.
• Canada won their most recent meeting as they played each other last weekend. Canada won 3-1.
• The other two meetings came in 2013 with both teams winning once. Canada won their first meeting in straight sets while Portugal won the second by 3-1.
Portugal
• Portugal defeated Finland 3-2 on Friday to start off their weekend on a high note.
• Portugal lost all three of their matches on their first weekend and won only one of their three on their second weekend.
• Portugal are now aiming for back-to-back World League victories for the first time since 2014.
Canada
• By defeating Cuba 3-2 on Friday, Canada have extended their perfect record in the World League this season to 7-0.
• Cuba were the first opponents this season to take Canada to five sets.
• Canada have equalled their longest winning streak in the competition. In 2013, they also won seven World League matches in a row.
