Matosinhos, Portugal, July 10, 2016 - Canada may have been the best playing team in FIVB Volleyball World League 2016 Group 2 so far, but Final Four hosts Portugal have shown that they know how to win when it really matters. So when they go for the gold in Matosinhos on Sunday, anything can happen...

Head-to-Head
• Canada have won three of the previous four World League encounters with Portugal.
• Those three victories include two this season, one in Saskatoon on 26 June and one in Tampere on 2 July.
• Portugal's only World League victory against Canada dates back to 8 June 2013.

Canada
• Canada have not finished a World League campaign with a victory since 2012, when they beat Finland in their final match of the season.
• Canada have won nine of their last 10 matches in the World League.
• Canada's only defeat in the World League this season was suffered against Finland on 3 July.

Portugal
• Portugal saved their third victory in the World League this season for when it mattered, as they beat Netherlands on Saturday, to advance to the Group 2 final.
• Portugal had finished last in the regular round-robin Group 2 table with only two wins from nine matches, but qualified for the semifinals as hosts.
• Portugal are poised to win back-to-back World League matches for the first time since 2014.
