Egypt aiming to bounce back

 

Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, June 19, 2016 – Egypt will be looking to get back to winning ways against China on Sunday.

Head-to-Head
· This will be the fifth encounter between these teams in the World League. They previously met four times in 2008.
· Egypt won one of these encounters as they won the last clash in 2008 in straight sets.
· The most recent meeting between these teams came at the 2014 World Championship with China claiming the victory in four sets.
· Egypt's last win over China came at the 2011 World Cup when they won in straight sets. 

Egypt
· Egypt's eight-match winning streak in the World League came to an end after their 3-0 defeat against Canada on Saturday.
· They lost only one match in last year's World League.
· Egypt have not suffered successive 3-0 defeats since two losses against Russia in the 2010 World League.
· Ahmed Elkotb is Egypt's leading scorer with 40 points.

China
· China have lost both matches in the 2016 World League. They lost in straight sets against Canada and 3-1 against Czech Republic. 
· They can lose the first three matches of a World League campaign for the 10th time, most recently in 2010.
· They can lose five World League matches in a row for the first time since losing six consecutive matches in 2010.
