USA draw inspiration from 2014 result

Hard serve from USA's Matthew Anderson

Kraków, Poland, July 12, 2016 - USA started their 2016 campaign with a record of two wins and one defeat in the first weekend but then stormed into the Finals claiming six victories in as many matches.

Matthew Anderson was his team's best scorer with 110 points while Taylor Sander placed second with 97.

USA lost 3-1 to Brazil in the first World League weekend but it proved to be their only defeat in the Preliminary Round. They were arguably the best team in the remaining tournaments and finished second overall to claim a spot in the Finals.

In 2014, USA defeated arch-rivals Brazil in the World League final in Florence, the second time they had topped the podium at the tournament. They followed that up with a third place in 2015 and will hope to improve on that result in 2016.
