Russia beat Bulgaria 3-1 on Sunday

Kaliningrad, Russia, June 19, 2016 – Russian team won a difficult 3-1 match (25-20, 18-25, 17-25, 22-25) against Bulgaria on the last day of World League in Kaliningrad on Sunday.

Sergey Tetyukhin, captain, Russia: We had the goal to win and to give all players the chance to play. We are satisfied with the result tonight and we will do our best to gain momentum.

Alexey Verbov, libero, Russia: That was a difficult match for us. We started with the second roster and lost a set. But everything ended happily, thanks to the local fans who supported us all the way. Hope we will become stronger and stronger every next match. Now we are going to Poland and will try to show a good performance there.

Vladimir Alekno, coach, Russia: We are far from the perfect game. The players have the desire, do what they have to do, but there is still something we lack. We will work and move forward.

Tsvetan Sokolov, player, Bulgaria: We played good tonight, but we had huge difficulties with Russian service. We couldn’t find a way to fight with it.
