One of the top scorers of the match, Uros Kovacevic spikes as his team defeated Bulgaria in straight sets
Kaliningrad, Russia, June 18, 2016 - In order to defeat Bulgaria, Serbia's coach Nikola Grbic asked his players to repeat the performance shown on Friday against Russia. The plan paid off with a straight set win and leader position in the pool.
Nikola Grbic, coach of Serbia: I liked the way my team acted today. I asked my players yesterday evening to repeat everything they did in the game against Russia. Every team after a bad performance try to redeem and play much better, and Bulgaria is not an exclusion. So I've tried to prepare my team psychologically and I was glad to see that we tried to win every rally tonight. Now everything we need is to think about the game with Poland.
Alexandar Atanasijevic, opposite of Serbia: That was a great match. We managed to show our best performance as we managed to do that yesterday. We are already in a good physical shape, but still have a lot of problems to solve. I'm sure we could do that before the start of the Final Six in Poland.
Viktor Yosifov, captain of Bulgaria: We played better then yesterday. The first two sets were good. After the first set there was a difficult situation and we could not cope with it.
